We have a clear mission to offer investors a different approach to achieving their investment goals; one that prioritises the certainty of meeting their chosen objectives in contrast to the traditional focus on maximising return and minimising volatility. We’re at the forefront of developing new ways of investing, providing access to innovative investment strategies, using contemporary robust risk management techniques. Our aim is to deliver consistent and repeatable performance by focusing only on those things we believe we can do well, including liability driven investment, fixed income, and absolute return and multi-asset.
Our awards
We have won more than 150 major awards over the last 15 years with repeat wins at the Financial News Asset Management Awards, the Professional Pensions UK Pension Awards and the FT Pensions and Investment Provider Awards (FT PIPAs) among many others, spanning multiple categories.
In 2021 we were named ESG Manager of the year, LDI Manager of the Year and Investment Manager of the Year at the Professional Pensions UK Pensions Awards; ESG/Impact Manager of the Year and Fixed Income Manager of the Year at the FT PIPAs, LDI Manager of the Year at the Pensions Age Awards and Fixed Income Manager of the Year at the Irish Pension Awards run by European Pensions magazine.
We are proud to be able to share some of our award successes with you here.
Responsible investing
As a firm, we take responsible investment seriously. In our view, it is as an essential part of managing risk and deciding whether an investment is fair value. We are a signatory to the Financial Reporting Council’s UK Stewardship Code and in 2006 became a founding signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). Insight has been seeking to improve the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues in our research processes for more than a decade and, where we identify material ESG risks, we also aim to engage to better understand the issues. Insight’s 2022 Responsible Stewardship report is available here, providing:
- In-depth information on our governance and resourcing around responsible investment and stewardship efforts, covering the integration of stewardship considerations in our investment processes
- Examples of work undertaken on behalf of clients to address systemic risks such as climate change
- Enhancements we have made to our corporate ESG and climate risk ratings, and sovereign ESG framework, all of which directly support engagement efforts
- Detail of our stewardship and engagement activity in 2021, with over 80% of our engagements with corporate and sovereign issuers including some form of dialogue on ESG-related matters
- Key themes for 2022 reflected in our counterparty and thematic engagement programmes and a range of relevant case studies
- Extensive information on our recent activities and priorities for enhancements in 2022
In 2022, Insight commissioned academic research from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) which found that the application of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors to a European corporate bond reference portfolio did not impair its overall historic risk characteristics or performance over the last ten years. Insight wanted to add to the body of work on this subject having found little independent research into the effect of applying ESG factors in fixed income. For detail, see Bayes’ research paper and Insight’s summary report.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are strategic priorities at Insight. We believe that having a workforce that reflects the broader society in which we operate enhances the way we think, adds significant value to decision making and is the right thing to do. No gender, ethnicity, or other social group has a monopoly on good ideas and talent. When recruiting we cast the net wide to attract the very best people from the broadest demographics and backgrounds possible. Hiring diverse talent into our inclusive and collaborative culture enables us to achieve a significant competitive advantage through our people.

Consultants are a key source of success for the business. They typically act as advisors to pension schemes, insurance companies, wealth platforms and other types of financial institutions.
