    Our multi-sector capabilities

    Our US core fixed income strategy offers broad US fixed income exposure designed to give investors a core bond holding as part of a balanced overall portfolio. This active strategy offers an alternative to passive approach to core fixed income, providing customized core fixed income solutions that combine top-down active sector allocation with bottom-up security selection, drawing on the expertise of our expansive team of global research analysts.

    Security selection within the strategy is enhanced via analyzing risks based on, among other things, management depth and experience, competitive advantage, market position and overall financial strength. The strategy primarily invests in investment grade US fixed income with a focus that capitalizes on market inefficiencies and out of index opportunities. The strategy is managed following a rigorous, disciplined and proven investment process that includes in-depth analysis within a strong risk-controlled framework.

    Our Core Plus strategy aims to provide a dynamic way to allocate your core fixed income portfolio with sector and asset class allocations based on broad specialist expertise.

    Our Select Income strategies seek reliable outperformance above the ‘Agg’ and US corporate credit indices respectively, by seeking sustainable sources of income and aiming to exploit pricing inefficiencies across the full fixed income universe. These strategies avoid being held captive by their benchmarks.

    We offer a wide variety of traditional and customized liquidity strategies to help meet your liability cashflows, increase potential returns from your liquid assets and manage treasury assets.

    In particular, we manage customized active short duration strategies to help public sector clients meet their treasury capital management needs.

    Our Public Sector Group (PSG) employs a team approach comprised of dedicated portfolio managers, credit research analysts, US client service professionals and US operations groups.

    Our intermediate fixed income strategy seeks consistent alpha above US corporate credit benchmarks, delivered mostly through credit sector and security selection (not macro bets) with diverse risk allocations precisely scaled using proprietary tools.

    Our US long duration strategy seeks to mitigate asset-liability risk and/or capture the value available in long-dated bonds. This strategy is suited to investors that have long-dated liabilities. It blends long duration US government and credit securities with the goal of maximizing risk-adjusted excess return. The strategy seeks to take advantage of pricing and spread inefficiencies in long-dated fixed income assets as well as to enhance returns with modest opportunistic use of non-benchmark assets. Strong risk controls are integral to the manaement of the strategy. This strategy is benchmarked to the Barclays Capital US Long Government/Credit index.

    Head of Fixed Income, North America

    Brendan joined Insight in September 2021 following the transition of Mellon Investments’ fixed income strategies to Insight. He has worked in the investment industry since 1996. Brendan is Head of Core Fixed Income, North America. In this role, he responsible for all core US Fixed Income including the US Core and Multi Sector, US Rates and Mortgages, US Insurance and US Investment Grade teams. He will continue his responsibilities as the lead portfolio manager for the global and opportunistic fixed income strategies in North America and oversee our associated team. He previously served as senior portfolio manager for non-US, global and opportunistic bond portfolios at Mellon Investments. Before managing portfolios, he was a senior trader responsible for non-US-dollar developed and
    emerging market securities as well as foreign exchange. Prior to joining Mellon Investments, Brendan was a senior trader responsible for investment grade corporate bonds at State Street Research. Brendan received a BA from Trinity College. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute.

    Head of US Multi Sector Fixed Income

    Scott joined Insight in September 2021 following the transition of Mellon Investments’ fixed income strategies to Insight. He has been in the investment industry since 1990. Scott joined Mellon Investments in 2014 as a client portfolio manager for global multi-sector products. Today, he is a senior portfolio manager for the US Multi-Sector fixed income team. His responsibilities include management of US core and core plus, fixed income strategies. Prior to joining Mellon Investments, Scott worked at the Flatley Company where he was a senior portfolio manager responsible for managing the fixed income absolute return strategy. Additional experience includes positions at Wellington Management Company as a fixed income portfolio manager and credit analyst focused on corporate credit and structured products, and investment management responsibilities at Putnam and Fidelity. Scott earned an MS in Finance from Boston College and a BS from Skidmore College. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute.

    Erin joined Insight’s Fixed Income Group in August 2019 as a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for managing credit portfolios, including long duration and customized bond solutions. Erin was promoted to Head of US Investment Grade in 2022. She previously worked at Conning, Inc. as a fixed income portfolio manager, where she managed credit liability-driven portfolios for pension and insurance clients. Prior to Conning, Erin worked at JP Morgan Asset Management as a fixed income portfolio manager, where she managed credit/customized portfolios for a full range of clients with a focus on pensions, and also handled credit trading. Erin holds a BA in Economics/Mathematics from Boston University and is also a CFA charterholder.

    Head of US Government and Mortgage Portfolios

    Robert joined Insight in September 2021 following the transition of Mellon Investments’ fixed income strategies to Insight. He has been in the investment industry since 1991. Robert is the Head of US Government and Mortgage Portfolios for fixed income. He is responsible for managing portfolios which focus on US interest rates and inflation strategies. In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, Robert manages an investment team with similar mandates and oversees the US agency MBS research effort. Prior to his current role, he held several positions in fixed income research and trading. Robert received a BS from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and an MS in Finance from Boston College. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston.
