A new standard for DC pension provision

A new standard for retirement income

The purpose of any pension is to provide a salary replacement for those entering retirement. Simple as this sounds, the reality can present significant challenges.

Today, retirees face a difficult decision between two options: an annuity, which guarantees income but lacks flexibility and cannot be reversed; or an investment portfolio, which offers flexibility and the chance for growth, but comes with considerable risk.

A focus on member outcomes

Our solution aims to deliver a salary replacement determined annually by Insight and communicated to providers. Importantly, it seeks to minimise the risk of members running out of money while retaining flexibility to change their plans. In doing so, it offers clear benefits for members and pension providers.

The solution: a flex then fix framework

Our investment solution is focused on providing retirees with a pension for life and is based on a two-part framework: we believe this approach offers the flexibility retirees expect in early retirement, and the stability they value in late retirement.

Using Insight’s Retirement Income strategies

While many look forward to their retirement, it can be a time of significant uncertainty. To reflect members’ different circumstances and priorities, our solution offers a combination of reliability, flexibility and growth potential.

As members approach the later stages of retirement, our solution aims to leave sufficient capital to purchase an annuity. By doing so, the solution aims to help members secure a salary replacement in line with the income received during the flex stage.

Why Insight?

Our firm is built on long-standing partnerships with some of the world’s largest pension funds – it’s what we do. We’ve developed outcome-oriented solutions for hundreds of pension schemes, large and small, with a focus on maximising the certainty of outcomes.
